Maharana Pratap, the valiant ruler of the Northwestern region of Rajasthan, was a prominent figure in Indian history. Born on May 9, 1540, in Kumbhalgarh Fort, Mewar, Rajasthan, he was a brave and great king who fought against the Mughals to protect his homeland. Maharana Pratap’s real birth name was “Maharana Pratap Singh Sisodiya,” and he belonged to the Sisodia Rajput dynasty.

Maharana Pratap was the eldest son of Udai Singh II and Jaiwanta Bai. He was born into a royal family in Kumbhalgarh Fort, and his three younger brothers were named Jagmal Singh, Vikram Singh, and Shakti Singh. He also had two stepsisters, Man Kanwar and Chand Kanwar. After the death of Udai Singh II in 1572, Maharana Pratap succeeded him as the king, despite the wishes of Rani Deer Bai, who wanted her son Jagmal to become the king.
